Privacy policy
This one's short. The site is plain pages, two calculators that run in your browser, and three analytics tools that count visits.
What we collect
The room checker and the cost builder run entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us or stored anywhere. The one exception is the address bar, if you follow a link from a quick room check to the full checker.
We use three analytics tools to see which pages help people and which don't. None of them tells us who you are.
- Google Analytics 4 counts page views and shows where visitors came from. It sets cookies so it can tell a return visit from a new one. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on.
- Microsoft Clarity shows how people use a page: where they click, how far they scroll, and anonymous replays of visits. It masks what you type and sets cookies. Read Microsoft's privacy statement.
- Ahrefs Web Analytics counts visits without cookies and without storing personal data. Read the Ahrefs privacy policy.
You can block all three with a content blocker, or by turning off third-party cookies in your browser. The site works the same either way.
Affiliate links
When you click a link to a retailer, that retailer may set a cookie. That's how it knows the sale came from this site. Those cookies belong to the retailer, and its own privacy policy covers them. The affiliate disclosure lists the programs.
Advertising
There are no display ads on the site at launch. Later, light advertising will show only on the room, how-to and software guides, never on reviews or buying pages. When that starts, this section will name the ad network and link to its opt-out.
If you email us, we keep the email so we can reply and fix whatever you told us about. We won't add you to a mailing list.
