# The Sim Golfer

The Sim Golfer helps golfers plan, price and buy a home golf simulator that fits their room. Every review answers four questions in the same order: will it fit your room (depth, ceiling and width in feet), which numbers it gets right, what it really costs including software fees, and who should buy it or skip it. Prices are US retail ranges.

Key room figures used across the site:
- Ceiling: 9 ft is the practical minimum for a driver, 10 ft is comfortable, under 8 ft 6 in is irons only.
- Depth: space behind the ball + 8 ft of ball flight + 1 ft behind an impact screen (a net needs no gap). Camera units beside the ball need 12 ft with a net or 13 ft with a screen; radars that sit about 7 ft behind the ball (Garmin R10, Rapsodo MLM2PRO) need 15 or 16 ft; 8 ft radars (FlightScope Mevo Gen2, Full Swing KIT, TrackMan) need 16 or 17 ft.
- Width: 10 ft for one golfer with a net; 12 ft minimum and 15 ft comfortable for an enclosure.
- Budget tiers, all in: garage starter $700 to $1,500; serious home bay $3,000 to $7,000; full bay $8,000 to $15,000; commercial grade from $14,000.
